Kadeem Hardison returns to series television as the highly-responsible, highly-meticulous Charles Winston, a determined sportswriter who appreciates the structure, organization and stability of his life, but sharing his pad with his less than responsible younger brother James (Dondré T. Whitfield) doesn't make it easy. Unlike Charles, James is an easy-going real estate agent who spends his time chasing women and anxiously awaiting the day when one of his get-rich-quick schemes will payoff. The brothers' differences are balanced out by long-time friends Mitchell Ford (Tommy Davidson), a loveless, twice-divorced high school teacher and Dusty Canyon (Kelly Perine), a luckless weatherman whose fashion sense is further off than his weekend forecast. Charles and James often find their friends doing practically everything at their house but paying rent. S01E01 In Case of Emergency 11/09/1997 James is upset when Charles places more trust in their pal Dusty than in him. When Charles lists Dusty as his emergency contact instead of his own brother, a hurt James attempts to prove to everyone that he is a responsible ""go-to-guy"". Meanwhile Charles awaits an important date, only to have James' irresponsiblity interfere; and Dusty gets a new roommate when Mitchell leaves wife No. 2.
S01E02 The Big Three-Oh 18/09/1997 Charles comes to a harsh realization about turning 30 even though he maintains he hasn't changed since he was 21. Later, he and James go two-on-two against a pair of noisy, hoop-playing neighbors.

S01E08 New Beginnings 13/11/1997 When Mitchell develops a crush on a teacher at his school, he turns to lady-killer James to teach him the right moves. While on their first date, Mitchell's new image backfires, and he winds up wrecking Dusty's new Porsche. Meanwhile, Charles' new cynical boss, Stuart Franklin, gives him an ultimatum: get an exclusive interview with Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants or he loses his job.

S01E11 The Interview 18/12/1997 When Charles interviews at Windy City Magazine to head up their sports department, he finds the woman who will determine his fate is Rebecca, his jilted ex-girlfriend. Charles' ethics are soon put to the test when Rebecca gives him an ultimatum - sleep with her and he will get the job. Meanwhile, Dusty, who's terrified of heights, fills in as the station's helicopter traffic reporter.
S01E12 Kung Fools 22/01/1998 When May defends Mitchell and Dusty after they get roughed up at the local bar, the embarrassed guys enroll in a karate class comprised of 10-year-olds. Meanwhile, Charles' feature article on retired running back Jim Brown, angers the ex-football star and James takes May on a date.
S01E13 Road Rules 29/01/1998 Dusty, Mitchell and James rent an RV and head out to Lansing, Michigan, for their 10-year high school reunion. However, their road trip is interrupted by a motor home with a mind of it's own and a tornado. While reminiscing, the guys' flashback to their high-school days and the events that led to their friendship. Meanwhile, May, scheming to have the apartment to herself, convinces Charles to leave work and meet the gang at the reunion.
