Take a seat and buckle-up; we’re in for a wild ride with Highway Patrol. Highway Patrol takes a rare fly-on-the-wall glimpse into the working lives of the Australian police officers who spend their days striving to keep our roads safe. From high-speed chases to violent conflicts and catching speeding drivers to investigating crash scenes, officers of the Victoria Police Traffic Units spend each day on the front line. As part of their job, the officers featured in Highway Patrol deal with drunken hooligans, defiant law breakers and simply lazy motorists, and they all pose an equal danger to themselves and others. These officers are passionate about their work, proud of what they do on a daily basis and invite viewers into their remarkable world in Highway Patrol.

But when the officer calls the boy's mother, she admits to having given him permission to use the car. Meanwhile, two senior constables pull over a car to find a small child in the back sharing a seat belt with another passenger. Then, one of the passengers decides it's the perfect opportunity to try to pick up one of the police officers.

A car with a painting of Heath Ledger on its bonnet catches the eye of the police – again. Is an innocent grandmother who is pulled over for speeding trying to hide something from police?
S02E07 Rainstorm Crash 06/07/2011 Snr constable Alan Edwards pulls over a driver doing 131km/h in a 110km/h zone but the driver gives false details but the onboard computer tells who she really is and has a suspended licence, Ryan Burns and Aaron Gribble are busy dealing with speeders, Ash Bowden attends a crash in the wet weather with a fireman claiming the car was doing burnouts before the crash, Meredith Grisold and Scott Cowan pull over a driver for using a mobile phone and also issue a defect notice, who the driver blames is someone unusual.
S02E08 Speed Drink Suspend 13/07/2011 Officers Henry and Emmanouel are called to a fatal accident at a railway crossing. A drunk driver has hit a few cars on his way back from McDonald's and seems too out of it to be able to answer some easy questions.
S02E09 Hash 'n' Dash 20/07/2011 Officer Terry Moore catches a speeding driver who is carrying marijuana, while a truck driver from Sydney has got lost on the Melbourne freeway and got stuck in a median strip after illegally taking a U-turn with his massive truck and trailer. And two adults smoking in a car with a child inside catches the eye of Senior Constable Ash Bowden.

S03E04 Motorcycle Crash 01/03/2012 Senior Constable Rose is called to an accident where a motorcycle rider has tried to split the traffic and go between two trucks. The rider has been run over by one of the trucks but the drivers did not stop. The police are on the hunt to find the truck drivers to determine whether it was a hit-and-run, or whether the drivers are unaware of the hit. Meanwhile, the rider is in a serious condition fighting for his life. Then, Senior Constable Byrnes pulls over an unregistered car, but the driver attempts to do a runner.
S03E05 Sleazeball 08/03/2012 A man is caught speeding at 126kmph in an 80 zone, in an unregistered car with the wrong number plates. But his biggest worry is getting the woman he's out with home before her boyfriend finds out.
S03E08 Head-On 29/03/2012 A high speed collision has left several people trapped in both cars with really bad injuries. They are airlifted to hospital and it takes some time to work out the events from the chaos of the crash scene. A driver is caught doing 110kmh in a 70kmph zone. And another driver caught speeding is so angry he manages to give himself another ticket.
S03E09 Sister Act 29/03/2012 A suspended driver takes on a senior constable. A learner driver pulled over for driving alone tries to pass herself off as her sister, but the police are not fooled. A moment of fun is about to change when police decide that the revelry crosses the line.

S04E01 Stolen Getaway Car 00/00/0000 A car runs a red light in front of Senior Constable and then tries to speed away. Thwarted by traffic, the driver is soon apprehended and then the officer discovers that the car is stolen with a number of additional illegal items, including drugs, cash, weapons and fake credit cards. Next, a driver is pulled over for speeding but he just can't accept the facts, and contests and argues his ticket for speeding.
S04E02 Doped Driver 00/00/0000 Some random breath testing ends up proving quite interesting for officers. The police break up a roadside drinking session, and some black smoke signals cause a lot of problems with a mechanic's car.
S04E03 Asserting My Rights 00/00/0000 A bolshy bike rider pulls a wheelie right in front of an unmarked cop car. The rider attempts to evade the police before falling off his bike, but continues to try and make a run for it. A Senior Constable pull over a car for a simple offence, but a simple intercept turns difficult thanks to the actions of the car's passenger who refuses to provide his information. Then, expected to be a simple speeding fine turns out to be a little more interesting.
S04E04 Ghost Plates 00/00/0000 A constable intercepts a speeding bike rider on an unroadworthy bike who he has run into before. A senior constable discovers a case she has been looking out for involving ghost plates.
S04E05 SES Rescue 00/00/0000 A driver in a horrific crash is trapped in the wreckage which ends up being wrapped around a tree. The highway patrol officers have to coordinate bringing in the rescue helicopters as teamsattempt to cut him out. A Senior Constable discovers a group of young partygoers on the streets, and after stopping them from drinking on the streets he sends them on their way. An officer is patrolling the streets of Corio when a bout of road rage happens right in front of him.
S04E06 Stolen Rental 07/11/2012 A car runs a red light in front of one of the Senior Constables and then attempts to speed away. A driver is pulled over for speeding, but he is unable to accept the facts and contests his ticket for speeding.
S04E07 Two Trucks, One Car 00/00/0000 Some Senior constables attend a nose-to-tail in peak hour traffic after a car has been sandwiched between two trucks. A senior constable sees a bike speeding and also pulls over an unregistered van that has no number plates.
S04E08 Sandwich Pursuit 00/00/0000 As one of the sergeants is checking number plates, a bike with personalised plates comes up as unregistered. He attempts to pull over the bike, but the rider decides to try to get away. In Bendigo, a senior constable stops a young speeding driver after the car is going 74km in a 60km zone.
S04E09 Invisible Bike 20/02/2013 A senior constable dealing with a P-plater who just can't stick to the rules. A cheeky cyclist has modified his bike to fit a homemade engine, which sees him breaking the speed limit on the highway. A cold and rainy night leads to a collision between a car and a bike. A senior constable arrives at the scene to find the bike rider on the ground and not breathing, and he immediately he attends to the rider with CPR until the ambulance arrives. Due to the heavy rain and the dark, the driver is not at fault but is clearly shaken by what has happened. Will they be able to save the cyclist, or will this accident end in tragedy?
S05E01 Inches from Death 01/05/2013 Senior Constable Dean Pickering attempts to help at the scene of a serious crash where two kids have stolen a car and later wrapped the car around a tree. A driver is stopped in Epping for driving an unregistered car.
S05E02 Spiked Pursuit 08/05/2013 The police are desperately trying to apprehend a female drink driver who has crashed a booze bus site. The speeding motorist just won't stop and with pursuing police unable to stop her, they decide to throw down stop sticks which should puncture all the offenders' car tyres. But it's a difficult and dangerous task on a dark, wet busy motorway.
S05E03 Knife Attack 00/00/0000 A member of the public is attacked by a man with a knife, while returning home from work. The offender leads officers on a frantic foot chase through the streets of Maribyrnong.
S05E04 Street Revolt 00/00/0000 Things end up getting well out of control after a group of men gather to mourn their dead friend. A mother's effortsto teach her daughter to drive goes horribly wrong after the teenager crashes through the side of a house.
S05E05 Blackout in Bendigo 00/00/0000 When a sergeant stops a car, his partner notices a weapon in the car. Two senior constables attempt to deal with a speeding car with bald tyres and a toddler sitting in the passenger footwell.
S05E06 Australia's Angriest Man 16/06/2013 A traffic cop is given a hard time but after Senior Constable Russell Warner stops a driver, he gets a reaction like none other he's seen before. Senior Constable Jerome Murnane stops a car with a couple of stoned occupants inside.
S05E07 Unrestrained Rage 08/07/2013 A routine traffic stop turns horribly wrong when an enraged driver tries to attack police. The man is pepper sprayed and an officer is trying to sort matters out - a hard task made even more difficult when a very angry Dad turns up. It's a hectic day on patrol for two Senior Constables when they are summoned to an accident involving a motorcyclist who's come off her scooter and smashed her head - and she wasn't wearing a helmet. Then a driver claims he has an emergency. But it's an emergency which will surprise everyone.
S05E08 Dicing With Death 00/00/0000 Senior Constable Dean Pickering has seen a lot of young men die on the roads so he's enraged when he spots three carloads of teenagers racing each other and even worse, half climbing out of their vehicles at speed. Toddlers and tantrums are synonymous and police are left to deal with one tempestuous two-year-old who is refusing to obey the law. Then, a lawbreaker is caught travelling nearly twice the speed limit. He's got his dinner in the back and it seems he's worried about it getting cold.
