The first of it's kind...the original adult western. The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp was the first in a wave of new TV westerns aimed at adults (previous entries, such as The Cisco Kid and The Lone Ranger, were considered fodder for the after-school crowd). The show was then followed, in the same season, by Gunsmoke on CBS, Frontier on NBC and Wyatt's fellow ABC show Cheyenne. It was these four shows alone that started an incredible and unmatched phenomena that would see up to 28 new westerns premiering during the 1958 primetime TV season. But only a handful of them were able to dominate a few of the top 10 spots in the network ratings and Wyatt Earp was one of them. Wyatt Earp was inspired by the legendary events of the real life Frontier Marshal who lived from 1848 to 1929. The show followed Earp from his days as a Marshal in Ellsworth and then later Dodge City (this caused some confusion amongst viewers since Matt Dillion was the Marshal of Dodge City in Gunsmoke) and finally

S01E01 Wyatt Earp Becomes A Marshal 06/09/1955 Ellsworth, Kansas 1873. S01E03 Bill Thompson Gives In 20/09/1955 Although the town is clamoring for Earp to form a posse to shoot it out with killer Bill Thompson, Earp decides to try a more stealthy means of tracking him down by using Indian scouts.
S01E04 Marshal Earp Meets General Lee 27/09/1955 Earp must defuse the situation when cowboys arriving from Texas think that their hero Robert E. Lee has been insulted by the townspeople of Ellsworth.

S02E02 Dodge City Gets a New Marshal 04/09/1956 Wyatt's first day as the new marshal of Dodge City begins with him showing the ruffians on Front Street who's boss. He then must do battle with the "Big T" cattle outfit.

S02E33 Wyatt Meets Doc Holliday 23/04/1957 Doc Holliday saves Wyatt from the business end of a shotgun, and one of the Old West's greatest friendships is born. They both go after the same train-robber, but for different reasons.
S02E34 Beautiful Friendship 30/04/1957 Wyatt finds himself between a rock and a hard place when the Hollidays move to Dodge City. The town council doesn't want Doc in town, but when Doc is accused of a shooting, Wyatt is the only one who believes he might be innocent. As a matter of honor, Doc refuses to post bail and is offended that Wyatt won't take his word.
S02E35 Dull Knife Strikes for Freedom 07/05/1957 A renegade Cherokee, Dull Knife, leads a war party off the reservation and launches retaliatory attacks against the whites.
S02E36 The Gold Brick 14/05/1957 Doc Holliday buys a gold brick from a bank robber and sells it to one of the men in town who have snubbed him. When Wyatt finds out, he tries to get Doc to tell him who the buyer is, but Holliday has his own game to play.
S02E37 The Wicked Widow 21/05/1957 Myra Malone is a dressmaker by day and runs with a gang of outlaws in her private life.
S02E38 They Think They're Immortal 28/05/1957 Wyatt's younger brother Morgan arrives in town and wants a job as a deputy. When Wyatt refuses, Morgan falls in with Doc Holliday, dealing Faro at the local saloon.
S02E39 The Time for All Good Men 04/06/1957 Wyatt Earp's propensity for playing the lone hand gets him trapped by his hated enemies, the Big T outfit, at Adobe Springs. His enemies, who greatly outnumber him, seek to starve him out. But word that Wyatt is in a real jam is spread by a cowhand grateful for past favors, and soon wuch old friends and strange characters - each grateful in his own way - quietly assemble to rescue Wyatt in an all-time famous gun battle with the Big T. These characters include Bat Masterson, Ben Thompson, Doc Holliday, John Wesley Hardin, Mannen Clements and others.
S03E01 Call Me Your Honor 17/09/1957 The town council wants Jim Kelley to run for mayor, and Wyatt agrees. However, Kelley soon discovers that his opponent, Madigan, and his crooked cronies will stop at nothing to win.
S03E02 The Big Bellyache 24/09/1957 Wyatt goes fishing with Dr. Fabrique when the doctor returns to Dodge City, but local cattle baron Shanghai Pierce is stricken with what he believes is appendicitis. Pierce's men abduct Fabrique and Wyatt and force the doctor to treat their boss.
S03E03 Pinkytown 01/10/1957 The local shantytown of Pinkytown rebels against Dodge City, refusing to be taxed. Doc Holliday decides to take a hand and help the independent citizens, putting him on the wrong side of Wyatt
S03E04 Shoot to Kill 08/10/1957 Two brothers who shot a peace officer in Texas flee to Dodge City, and Wyatt tries to keep things from getting out of hand.

S03E07 Hung Jury 29/10/1957 When a well-liked cattle buyer is shot, then townspeople are eager to convict a drunken Reb Thomas. Reb was found with the gun in his hand, standing over the body, but he insists that he passed out and never fired a shot. Wyatt soon discovers that Reb may be telling the truth.
S03E08 Little Pistol 05/11/1957 Doc and Kate unexpectedly develop parental streaks when they take in a 12-year-old girl, the legendary "Little Pistol," after she robs Doc's gambling hall.
S03E09 The Magic Puddle 12/11/1957 When the townspeople refuse to let Kate Holliday join their church, Doc comes up with a scheme for revenge. He convinces a couple that the oil puddle they have on the road to Dodge City passing through their land can be used to make a medical ointment. All they have to do is fence it off, and the mule-skinners who use the road aren't happy.
S03E10 Mr. Buntline's Vacation 19/11/1957 A near-penniless Ned returns to Dodge City to after losing big to a gambler, but the gambler comes looking for his money.
S03E11 Fortitude 26/11/1957 Kate Holliday gets word that a cattleman with a grudge plans to kill Wyatt at a cattleman's convention and convinces Doc to look into it.
S03E12 The Good and Perfect Gift 03/12/1957 Doc reluctantly befriends a young boy, Benny Burkett, who looks to the gambler and gunfighter as a role model. Wyatt has to step in to make sure that Benny gets a proper education and runs up against the boy's stubborn father.
S03E13 Indian Wife 10/12/1957 Wyatt has to intervene when a white homesteader and his Indian wife move to Dodge City and encounter bigotry.
S03E14 Woman Trouble 17/12/1957 Jennie Brant, a reluctant member of a religious sect known as the True Lighters, has never met a man she wanted to marry... until Wyatt rescues her from the sect.
S03E15 Shadow of a Man 24/12/1957 When Wyatt rides out with a posse, he leaves Deputy Hal Tannen in charge, and Hal soon finds himself dealing with several crises

S03E19 The Manly Art 21/01/1958 A traveling boxer makes his way to Dodge City and Wyatt soon finds himself in the ring against the man.
S03E20 Sweet Revenge 28/01/1958 A man and a woman arrive in Dodge City at the same time, both with the intention of killing Wyatt Earp.
S03E21 The Imitation Jesse James 04/02/1958 A Jesse James imitator, Henry Harrison Hammer, strikes at stagecoaches around Dodge City and builds his reputation by only robbing the rich, not the poor. Wyatt arrests Hammer on the testimony of one of his victims, a banker, but the working-class people that Hammer ignored refuse to testify against him
S03E22 The Kansas Lily 11/02/1958 female outlaw and former Confederate spy, Kansas Lily, rides into Dodge City and accuses a dealer of cheating her. She draws a derringer on the dealer, but a smitten Bat Masterson supports her. Wyatt isn't swayed, but all the Southerners in town support her as well. Meanwhile, Kansas Lily tells Wyatt that her former gang members are after her and she asks Wyatt for permission to run a private poker game so she can raise enough money to get out of town.
S03E23 Wyatt Earp Rides Shotgun 18/02/1958 The Wells Fargo Co., Wyatt's old employer, asks him to ride shotgun on a stagecoach run that is being repeatedly attacked and robbed.
S03E24 Wyatt Fights 25/02/1958 Wyatt has to step in when Jim Cockrell tries to force Luke Short to sell the Long Branch saloon to him.
S03E25 Ballad and Truth 04/03/1958 Railroad engineman Tex McVey arrives in Dodge City, eager to break a new record. But when he runs a train off the tracks, he claims that robbers sabotaged the tracks because of the cattle he was carrying.
S03E26 The Schoolteacher 11/03/1958 A stagecoach arrives in Dodge City with an injured driver, a dead passenger, and an empty case that held $5,000 gold from the Denver Mint. The driver, Billy Hanley, claims that he recognized one of the masked robbers by his voice. Wyatt figures that Billy's story doesn't add up wen he confirms that the accused man has an alibi. Then Billy turns up dead, leaving a grief-stricken girlfriend, schoolteacher Miss Nancy, to mourn his death
S03E27 When Sherman Marched Through Kansas 18/03/1958 The controversial General Sherman is due to visit Dodge City, and passions are running high.
S03E28 Big Brother Virgil 25/03/1958 Virgil Earp arrives in Dodge City and inadvertently gets caught in a misunderstanding between a woman and her beau.
S03E29 It Had to Happen 01/04/1958 The town council gives Wyatt an order to use lethal force and he refuses. A hired gun, Hoyt, comes after Wyatt and the marshal inadvertently ends up killing a man for the first time.
S03E30 County Seat War 08/04/1958 Dodge City and Fort Dodge argue over which town should be the county seat, and the parties involved soon turn to guns to settle their dispute
S03E31 One 15/04/1958 Wyatt Earp's two Indian friends, Mr. Cousin and Mr. Brother, have information about four notorious murderers, The Dry Gulchers. The Gulchers intercept the Indians and kill one of them. Earp swears he will run them into the ground
S03E32 The Underdog 22/04/1958 Western landscape painter Hurley Abbott turns to Wyatt for fighting advice when George Jackson orders him off his property after Hurley becomes involved with George's niece, Etta. But it's Doc Holliday who lends a hand when he returns to Dodge City and takes an interest in Hurley's paintings
S03E33 Two 29/04/1958 Wyatt Earp continues his search for the remaining three men (he has already bagged one) who killed his Indian friend, Mr. Brother. But this time Wyatt and Bat Masterson, in addition to chasing the Dry Gulchers, has to contend with a group of Cheyenne and a young Army lieutenant still damp behind the ears. But Wyatt bags number two of his query. Two down, two to go.
S03E34 Doc Holliday Rewrites History 06/05/1958 Doc Holliday is up to no good when he teams up with a history professor to write a historical treatise on Dodge City... from Doc's point of view
S03E35 Three 13/05/1958 When the notorious Dry Gulchers killed one of Wyatt Earp's Indian friends, Mr. Brother, they brought upon themselves Earp's relentless pursuit. Now two of the Dry Gulchers have been caught, the chase is well into Texas and Wyatt has enlisted the aid of the Texan Rangers as the third captive is sought.
S03E36 Dig a Grave for Ben Thompson 20/05/1958 Ben Thompson returns to Dodge City and needs help from Wyatt when two women come looking for him... both demanding that he fulfill his promise to marry them. However, it's Doc Holliday who decides to help Ben in his own unique manner.
S03E37 Four 27/05/1958 The last of the notorious Dry Gulchers, sought by Wyatt Earp, because he is one of a group which murdered his Indian friend, Mr. Brother, is hardest of the group to catch. He is protected by a father and daughter in a ranch deep in Texas. And the mixture of man and women against Wyatt proves almost his undoing. The death of Wyatt's Indian friend is avenged.
S03E38 The Frame-Up 06/06/1958 A money package goes missing on a train, and Wyatt soon finds himself framed for the crime by several vengeful enemies.
S03E39 My Husband 10/06/1958 The townspeople try to get Doc Holliday out of town and away from Wyatt by appealing to Kate Holliday.
S04E01 The Hole Up 16/09/1958 Wyatt goes undercover as a wanted criminal to track down Blackie Sanders on behalf of Wells Fargo
S04E02 The Peacemaker 23/09/1958 Wyatt recruits Shotgun Gibbs as marshal and sends him onto Dodge City in his absence. When Gibbs arrives there, he discovers that Curly Bill and Johnny Ringgold are extorting Mayor Kelley to force him to fire Wyatt as a coward and a liar.
S04E03 The Bounty Killer 30/09/1958 A mysterious killer has ambushed and killed nine people in the Robbers' Roost country of Utah. Wyatt's old Army friend, Colonel Benteen, begs him to take the case so that the cavalry may be saved in the event of an Apache attack. And before Wyatt is through he has to enlist the aid of every notorious outlaw in Robbers' Roost to get the mysterious killer and those behind him.
S04E04 Caught by a Whisker 07/10/1958 Wyatt tries to track down two thieves who manage to stay one step ahead of him despite his best efforts
S04E05 The Mysterious Cowhand 14/10/1958 In his most energetic disguise, that of a cowhand, Wyatt Earp is after the murderer of a cousin and joins a cattle outfit coming up the Chisholm Trail. The Outfit is commanded by a devious tyrant who has unique punishments for those who offend him. Wyatt, suspecting him early, is put through a tough time.
S04E06 The Gatling Gun 21/10/1958 General Sherman asks Wyatt to track down Indians who stole a Gatling gun.
S04E07 Cattle Thieves 28/10/1958 The Cattleman's association pushes through a law making rustling a felony, and Wyatt is soon forced to play his deputy, Shotgun Gibbs, under arrest.
S04E08 Remittance Man 04/11/1958 A young nobleman paid to stay out of England ends up in Dodge City, and soon becomes entangled in local affairs.
S04E09 King of the Frontier 11/11/1958 Again Wyatt Earp meets his friend Ned Buntline and Mr. Buntline has just published a book describing Wyatt as the King of the Frontier without realizing the embarrassment to which such stuff will subject Wyatt.
